Two of the world’s most relatable stars joined forces for a relatable meal.

Jennifer Garner shared a new installment of her iconically casual social media cooking videos with guest Kylie Kelce. Rather than the usual “Pretend Cooking Show” setup, the pair united for “Naptime Cook Club” in the March 1 Instagram video.

The Last Thing He Told Me actress explained at the start of the video that Kelce was her “special guest for ‘Naptime Cook Club’ today: a meal you can put together and have ready while your kid is down for a nap. You have so many—” and the podcast host interrupted, “I need that. Yeah, they just keep multiplying.”

“Does anyone nap?” Garner asked the mom of four.

Kelce replied, “We still have one napper.”

“Your 2-year-old doesn’t nap?” the mom of three asked in shock and Kelce explained matter-of-factly, “No, she’s busy. She’s got things to do!”

Garner exclaimed, “That’s so mean!”

The 13 Going on 30 alum walked Kelce through a recipe that she described as “so basic” but “tasty.”

“Please, hold, America, while I deal with this nonsense,” the actress pleaded while opening up new bottles of condiments.

They start with a marinade (“because, delicious,” Garner explained) made of ÂŒ cup balsamic vinegar, ÂŒ cup worcestershire sauce, ÂŒ cup olive oil, 1 tablespoon dijon mustard, ÂŒ cup soy sauce and 1 clove of garlic. They stir up the ingredients and set some aside for a sauce.

“When you see Gwyneth [Paltrow] do it, it’s always like,” Garner said of fellow actress-slash-social media chef while demonstrating a rapid-fire dice.

“Well, that’s my fear. I watch so many cooking shows, including yours, that I am afraid that someone will see me with a knife.”

Garner took out a massive cut of steak, joking, “Not for vegans today,” and placed it in a ziplock bag, which Kelce added the marinade to, too. They placed the meat to the side.

“If you’re like, ‘I have my act together,’ and it’s the morning and you want to marinate it,” Garner started but Kelce joked, “I’ve never felt that in my whole life. But go on, hypothetically.”

Garner laughed and continued, “You could make this happen, put it in the fridge and then later the meat will obviously have more depth of flavor, as Ina says.”

“I have one child who will—actually that’s a lie because one can’t talk—two children who will voluntarily eat something that is green.

“Hey, that’s a win. I didn’t eat anything green until I was 20,” Garner joked.

The pair chopped up a salad while the steak cooked on the stove and Kelce explained how Garner’s Once Upon a Farm kids’ food company was useful in her own family.

“Our toughest eater was our oldest. The Once Upon a Farm pouches were great because they are not green color, they are beautiful colors,” Kelce said. “I tried to explain to her, ‘You ate veggies. You used to.” And she’s like, ‘No, I didn’t.’”

Garner explained how she makes a simple balsamic and olive oil dressing but said, “We could make a dressing, if you want?” but Kelce quickly denied the idea.

The person behind the camera piped in that it had only been 30 minutes of cooking. “That’s nap time when you’re unlucky,” Kelce joked.

“If your kid doesn’t want carrot sticks they might like carrot ribbons,” Garner suggested.

“Wait, is it accidentally perfect?!” Garner exclaimed while cutting the steak.

“I love the surprise and delight in your voice,” Kelce complimented and Garner responded, “‘Cause I don’t sweat it. The broccoli didn’t turn out like I wanted to show you but it’s gonna be fine. Don’t let something get in the way of cooking for yourself and your family, if you want to.”

In the end, they served the steak, broccoli and salad with rice and sesame seeds that they roasted “for fun.”

Garner also appeared on the Feb. 26 episode of Kelce’s podcast Not Gonna Lie.
