Def Leppard is gearing up for a historic move in their music career.

The music legends are bringing their powerhouse sound and arena-shaking anthems as they make their long-awaited debut in India.

After decades of anticipation, the British rock band is set to mark a major milestone for both the group and the country’s live music scene.

Adding to the list of their 2026 lineup, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, composed of members vocalist Joe Elliott, bassist Rick Savage, guitarists Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell and drummer Rick Allen, is set for a three-city India run beginning on March 25.

In a post on their official Instagram, Def Leppard announced they will be kicking off the tour at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong, followed by a March 27 show at Jio World Garden in Mumbai, before concluding the leg on March 29 at Nice Grounds in Bengaluru.

Def Leppard performs at Marvel Stadium on November 14, 2023 in Melbourne, Australia.

“This one's been a long time comin' - Very excited to announce three new shows in India this Spring!” the post reads.

Following the surprising announcement, fans couldn't help but express their excitement and flooded the comment section with messages of celebration and warm welcomes.

“Welcome to Meghalaya, Shillong,” one wrote.

The same goes for another who remarked, “WELCOME TO INDIA. So excited for THIS!!!”

“Can’t wait! Definitely headbanging throughout the tour,” a commenter said.

A follower couldn't believe the good news, noting “Omg! Gotta pinch myself!”

“I can't believe you guys are actually coming!! This has been a dream since I was 17!! I am legit crying with excitement rn!! Thank you, thank you!! I had requested you guys to come to India on your fan page. Can't wait to see you live!!” a fan echoed.

There’s no question why excitement is running high for both the Indian music community and the band, with the 2026 shows fulfilling a long-held dream after Def Leppard’s tour dates were halted in 2008.

At the time, the “Hysteria” hitmaker had initially planned two-day shows in Bengaluru and Mumbai in October, but the performances were later cancelled due to what was cited as "unforeseen circumstances."

"We are sorry to report that due to unforeseen circumstances, the two shows in India (scheduled to take place on Oct. 17 and 19 in Bangalore and Mumbai) have been cancelled. We apologize to our Indian fans and hope to be able to make up for it in the future,” the band mentioned on their website, as cited by Times of India.

Although they did not state the direct cause behind the cancellation, the country was on heightened alert at the time due to terror attacks.

After 18 years, fans will get to witness the electrifying stage presence of the iconic rock band as they perform their classic hits from “Pour Some Sugar On Me,” “Rock of Ages,” “Love Bites,” “Animal,” “Photograph” and more.
