The characters in A House of Dynamite go through a rollercoaster of emotions, but in real life, the cast enjoys less chaotic lives with their partners.
The tense political thriller features a fictional scenario of a nuclear missile being launched toward a major city in the United States. In the Netflix movie, members of the U.S. military and government try to figure out how to respond while attempting to warn their families and loved ones about the oncoming nuclear crisis.
Rebecca Ferguson's character, Olivia Walker, tells her husband to take their son and drive as far as possible. Speaking at a press conference for the film at the 2025 Venice International Film Festival, the actress revealed that the possibility of A House of Dynamite happening inspired a new line of dialogue.
"What it did to me is spark interest, knowledge, and it opened communication within my family," she said, per the .

In A House of Dynamite, the wife of Elba's character is portrayed by Renée Elise Goldsberry, but in real life, he has been married to Sabrina Dhowre Elba since 2019.
They first met in 2017 at a jazz bar in Vancouver, Canada, where Elba was filming The Mountain Between Us.
"It was love at first sight," the actor said on The View in July 2019. "I went out on my only day off, true story, it was a Sunday night, I went to this party and there she was. The rest is history."
Elba opened up to PEOPLE about how their "good chemistry" signaled that she was "the one."
"She makes me laugh, and we share common goals," he said in November 2018. "She makes me happy. She makes me celebrate my successes, and when Iâm not too sure about stuff, she makes me think."
