Morgan Freeman appeared recently on The Jennifer Hudson Show to chat about his accomplishments and upcoming movie Now You See Me: Now You Don't
When Hudson asked if there’s something he has to do every day, Freeman quickly responded, “Get up”
He added with characteristic candor, “I’m 88, darling”
Morgan Freeman has a simple daily philosophy.
Appearing recently on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the 88-year-old Oscar winner reflected on his storied career and what’s next. “What’s something you have to do, like every day?” asked Hudson, 44.
Freeman didn’t hesitate in his to-the-point response, deadpanning, “Get up.”
As the Now You See Me star laughed, Hudson quipped, “You better tell it!”
“I’m 88, darling,” said Freeman — which the Dreamgirls Oscar winner called “a blessing.”

Freeman is showing no signs of slowing down as he approaches his 90s, starring in last year's films My Dead Friend Zoe and Gunner and Paramount+ drama Lioness. In the upcoming Now You See Me: Now You Don't (in theaters Nov. 14), he reprises his role as Thaddeus Bradley for the third time in the heist franchise.
“You’ve done a lot. So is there something you’re still trying to perfect?” asked Hudson.
“Yes. My golf swing,” said Freeman. Asked if he’s good at the sport, he simply said, “No.”

For golf — or anything, it seems — the actor-producer follows a lifelong creed. “You can always improve,” said Freeman. “There’s always something you’ve gotta work on. So that’s what I’m trying to do.”
One thing Freeman hardly needs to improve on is his charm during talk show appearances. On Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday, Oct. 30, the actor gave Kimmel tips on kissing on camera after hearing the late Diane Keaton had named Freeman her “favorite onscreen kiss of all time.”
Now You See Me: Now You Don't brings back Freeman's costars Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco and Isla Fisher, adding Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt and Rosamund Pike to the cast. It's in theaters Nov. 14.
