Fans were beyond devastated when Led Zeppelin broke up in 1980 following the tragic death of drummer John Bonham, and many have never stopped hoping for a reunion in the years since. Whether a new Zep album or tour will ever come to pass remains to be seen, the remaining members of the band did get back together for an absolutely iconic gig in 2007, and guitarist Jimmy Page recently reflected on the "euphoric" reunion.
In a post on Instagram, the 81-year-old guitarist looked back on his performance with singer Robert Plant and bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones at the Ahmet Ertegün Tribute Concert at London's O2 Arena, sharing a series of photos from the unforgettable evening.

"Originally, on the night there were going to be Atlantic bands like Foreigner and some others, and it was suggested that we would do a 20 or 30 minutes set," Page wrote.
"And I thought, I wasn’t going to do that — we needed to do a full-length set, because the energy, power, synergy and synchronicity would build as the show continued. We wouldn’t have been able to achieve that in 20 minutes. We would have always regretted the fact that we didn’t play another hour at least," he continued.
"I just really wanted to go out there, play well, and show what we could do," Page explained. "To stand up and be counted, so that people would leave the concert saying, ‘I expected them to be good, but I had no idea they could or would deliver like this.’"
Of course, that's exactly what happened.
As Page added, according to the Guinness Book of World Records the show holds the record for the "highest demand for tickets for a single music concert" with 20 million online ticket requests. The concert was later turned into a film called Celebration Day, so while fans might never get to witness a Led Zeppelin reunion in real time, at least they can see what happened when they joined forces again for one night.
