Fifty-six years after "Sesame Street" debuted on TV screens, the beloved children's show will open its brownstone's doors on Netflix for the first time.
On Nov. 3, the streamer gave a sneak peek at the first season, unveiling its first trailer and images from upcoming episodes. The first looks show Elmo, Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, Grover, Rosita and other friends playing together in both animated and live-action formats.
Per Netflix's press release, "Episodes will invite children to play along in new ways, bring viewers inside the world’s most famous brownstone for the first time, and feature celebrity guests, original music, engaging animation, and, as always, lots of laughter."
Guests on the "freshly reimagined" program include NASCAR champion Bubba Wallace.

In late 2024, Warner Bros. Discovery – home to HBO Max – decided not to renew its deal with "Sesame Street" after nearly a decadelong partnership in which new episodes were released on the streaming platform while older content re-aired on PBS.
Then in May, Netflix announced that not only had it acquired the Emmy-winning program, but for the first time in a decade, new "Sesame Street" episodes would be airing on its native PBS.

When does 'Sesame Street' premiere on Netflix?
The first episodes will drop on Netflix on Monday, Nov. 10, which is the 56th anniversary of "Sesame Street."
The show will "feature interactive, immersive, and visually engaging 11-minute stories that put young viewers at the center of the action," with episodes releasing in three separate "volumes." The first volume includes four 30-minute episodes.
The show will be launched in more than 30 languages, according to the streamer.

Under the Netflix deal, "Sesame Street" will once again air new episodes.
Per Netflix, episodes will be released on the same day on PBS stations, the PBS Kids channel and across PBS Kids digital platforms in the U.S.
