Taylor Swift is looking back on a dark time amid her Eras Tour.
The music superstar released the first two episodes of her new Disney+ docuseries, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour | The End of an Era, on Friday, Dec. 12.
In the first episode, Swift, 35, reflects on the thwarted terror plot that caused her to cancel her three concerts in Vienna in August 2024. At the time, three men were arrested, and authorities have said the plot — which the CIA said aimed to kill "tens of thousands of people" — was inspired by the Islamic State group, per the .
The End of an Era shows Swift reeling and on edge after the canceled concerts, as well as how she prepared for her first post-terror threat concert in London.

"It's just kind of a weird feeling going into these last five shows in Europe because it sort of feels like we've done like 128 shows so far, but this is the first one where I feel like...I don't know, like, I'm skating on thin ice or something. We've had a series of very violent, scary things happen to the tour. We dodged, like, a massacre situation. And so I've just been kind of all over the place," Swift says at her hotel ahead of her string of shows at Wembley Stadium. Growing emotional in her interview, Swift added, "There was this horrible attack in Liverpool at a Taylor Swift-themed dance party, and it was little kids that ... I have a hard time explaining it."
In footage from backstage ahead of her Aug. 15 show in London, Swift tells her mother Andrea that she feels "twitchy and fidgety" to get back onstage after the near-tragedy, while also acknowledging she needs to "get back on the horse."
"From a mental standpoint, being like afraid that something's gonna happen to your fans at any moment, this is a new challenge," she adds. "I want to keep all of the nerves I have away from the crowd. because when you're sort of the ringleader of this show, they can sense any kind of shift energetically in you. and you have to really focus on that and factor that in, that you're at the Eras Tour, nothing's wrong.
Later, her longtime friend Ed Sheeran — who performed with Swift as a surprise at that London show — joins her backstage to rehearse. During their catch-up, Swift tells Sheeran how she felt she "need[ed] to do this show" to "remember the joy of this" following the violent threats.
After that first show back, an energetic Swift left the stage, excitedly yelling, "We're back!" as she left the stadium. Once in her car, she calls now-fiancé Travis Kelce, whom she tells, "I'm so happy," to which he responds, "I can hear it in your voice."
While still wrapping her head around returning to the stage after the terror plot, Swift was also mourning the loss of three young fans who died in a fatal stabbing at a Swift-themed dance and yoga class in Southport, England, on July 29. In the docuseries, an emotional Swift talks about wanting to provide joy and a sense of escapism to fans after the attack but feels "like a pilot flying the plane" going through turbulence as she attempts to put on a show as normal.
"I'm gonna meet some of these families tonight and put on a pop concert, you know?" Swift says through tears before the first London show. "I'm not gonna do this. I'm gonna be smiling. So any of this gets out of the way before you ever go on stage.
Before her five London shows, Swift met with victims and their families. After one such meeting, a devastated Swift — stage-ready, dressed in her Lover bodysuit — breaks down in tears while alone in a room shortly before hitting the stage.
The first two episodes of the six-part docuseries are now streaming; on Dec. 12, Swift also released The Eras Tour | The Final Show, a concert film from her last performance in Vancouver in December 2024, is now also streaming on Disney+. The projects come two months after Swift released her record-breaking 12th album The Life of a Showgirl.
