Tori Amos is singing with someone special.
On Tuesday, Feb. 24, the singer, 62, released the first single, “Stronger Together,” from her upcoming album In Times of Dragons. The song features backing vocals from her daughter, Tash Hawley, whom she shares with husband Mark Hawley.
The album creates an immersive world with 10 distinct characters, per a press release. Each character is associated with a track.

“Stronger Together" is about a character aptly named The Daughter.
The new song is about strength and connection, with moving lyrics including, “But stronger together / We found we could tackle it / And we could talk about it / And we could cry about it / And we could and we did.”
Speaking about the album, Amos said in a statement, “In Times of Dragons is a story that parables the current dangerous times we are in – where democracy itself is on the line. As I’m fleeing from the character that is my sadistic billionaire Lizard Demon husband, I came across people I had not been allowed to see in years, and they had not wanted to see me because of the relationship I found myself in.”
“To avoid being captured and dragged back to the Lizard Demon’s penthouse, I run to the Deep South of the U.S. to throw him and his henchman off my trail. One of the many characters I meet on the journey is The Daughter. We spend time and sing together,” she continued.

Adding insight on the single, Amos said it “is the culmination of our relationship as it is transformed with The Daughter choosing to stand by me no matter what challenges lay ahead. Whatever we will face in the future, we make a vow to each other that we’re Stronger Together.”

The song is even more of a family affair, according to the credits on the music video. Mark was credited for recording and mixing the track, while Tasha also received a cowriting credit.
Amos will support the release of In Times of Dragons with a tour that kicks off on April 8 in Sheffield, U.K. and wraps on Nov. 2 in Seattle. She will be joined by longtime collaborator Jon Evans on the bass and Earl Harvin on drums.
The "Cornflake Girl" musician is expected to perform songs from the new album, as well as her past hits.
In Times of Dragons is her 18th studio album and follows 2025’s The Music of Tori and the Muses. Her first album, Little Earthquakes in 1992, featured the singles "Me and a Gun” and "Silent All These Years.”

In 2025, Amos released her debut children's book, Tori and the Muses.
Amos previously told PEOPLE at the time about how the book has inspired her, saying, "This project has given me a lot of freedom because children allow us and encourage us, I think, and inspire us to dive into a world that sometimes I feel as grownups, we feel we need to separate ourselves from.”
She added, “So the project has really given me a lot of freedom as a creator to suspend the rules of what a grownup record should sound like, what it should be talking about, and step into the land of fairies."
