An influencer is going viral for showing off a massive blister that appeared on the back of her knee

Kyra Green said on TikTok that the sore appeared after she had her third tattoo removal session

The Los Angeles native tells PEOPLE she wanted to get her tattoo removed because it didn't heal properly and it was also a cover-up of a previous tattoo that was for an ex-girlfriend

An influencer is asking the internet for help after she woke up and realized she had a "massive blister" on her leg from her latest tattoo removal session.

"My sister said I absolutely should not share this on the internet because it's disgusting, and I agree with her, but I'm still going to show it to you guys because why not?" TikToker Kyra Green said in a Feb. 5 video.

The content creator, who has over 800K followers on TikTok, said the sore first appeared after her third session for a tattoo removal on the back of her knee. Though she said she has a "high pain tolerance," Green, 29, said she didn't expect the blister to occur when she told her technician to "amp" up the laser technology that breaks down ink particles on the skin.

"Got back from my appointment yesterday. I was like, she's a little hot," Green said of her bruised skin. "I look down, and it starts to look a little bubbly. And I was like, 'Okay, those are probably just little blisters. I've heard that that can happen with tattoo removal. That's fine.'"

However, Green said she was completely surprised when she woke up the next morning and saw a massive blister on the back of her knee.

"This is what it looks like," she said while showing it off. "What is that?!"

"The internet is telling me a billion different things. If this has happened to you, let me know what you did," she added.

Green tells PEOPLE she hasn't had any more tattoo removal sessions since she saw the blister.

"I definitely wanted to let my skin fully heal before thinking about going back in," she says, adding that this is the "first time anything like this has ever happened to me."

"I’ve had multiple removal sessions before and never had a reaction even close to this intense," she adds.

Green says the blister, which she likened to the "size of a lemon," was extremely "uncomfortable." She notes it felt like a "water balloon was attached to the back of my leg."

"I was terrified it would pop," she adds.

Thankfully, the sore was only there for a week before it did, in fact, pop. After that, it took another couple of weeks to fully heal. In another TikTok video, Green shared a clip of her mom putting a bandage on the back of her knee.

"When it finally popped, my mom came over and helped clean the wound and bandage everything like a pro, which I documented, and people were mad I didn’t go to the emergency room," she says. "But I grew up in a household where going to the hospital is truly a last resort."

Green also thanked the dermatologists who told her what she should do in the comments. Now, she says she's taking her tattoo removal process "slow" and "being a lot more cautious" than she was before.

"For a tattoo as dark as mine, they said upward of six sessions," she says of how long it'll take her to remove the ink. "There’s no way to fully know until you’re in the process, since everyone’s skin is different."

Green says her tattoo was of the word "her" and was a symbol for her ex-girlfriend, whom she called her "first love." She says she later covered it up with a heart and the words "love is love," but since it never healed properly, she decided to get it removed.

"She had to go," Green says.
